The reason for Christmas is to share ‘the’ love. And love is all about giving. And giving brings happiness. And to bear one another’s burdens is an act of helpfulness. And here comes the time to show kindness to a man in need. (Read More Here).
The man on the picture inset is Mr. Gabriel Amiyuni Benjamin. He hails from Abachor Igbeku (paternally) and Otuche- Okpoma( maternally) in Yala LGA, Cross River State. He’s a teacher. He teaches Biology, Geography and Agricultural Science in a private school, Ochumode Business Academy at Okuku Yala LGA.
From September 18th, 2020, he became bedridden due to his health challenge. He has spent his savings— too little to even feed him, treating a skin disease that appears to be psoriasis — a scaly, sharply defined skin silvery flaky patches and itchy disease that turns red and inflamed underneath when scratched. For many months as he said, he only had access to traditional herbs being administered to him by a Fulani herbalist.
Sadly, Benjamin lost his dear wife in the cold hand of death about 11 years ago, and his only child is currently fending for himself in Benue State. Hence, he has nobody to even aid him.
As the days go by, his condition seems to be worsening. And this calls for action. I’ve spoken with the Director, Principal and Cashier of the school, he last taught, Mr. Prince Simon Ube, Mrs. Fidelia Onah and Mr. Grace Eneyi respectively, whom have been assisting him for the time being. They shared their experiences and how they’ve shown concerns towards the plight of Benjamin.
That said, I respectfully call to the attention of his former students, former colleagues at Igbeku Comprehensive Secondary School, spirited Nigerians, NGOs, all and sundry to the seriousness of his health challenges.
I, Ogar Emmanuel Oko, pleads that you add Mr. Gabriel Amiyuni Benjamin to your Christmas list by sending your widow’s mite to help in restoring his health.
