Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Xandão Alexandre de Moraes and Elon Musk are fighting after Xandão told him to block accounts of far-rights supporting Jair Bolsonaro.

The latest batch of released Twitter Files documents showed us just how relentless the pressure was from Brazilian Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes to censor journalists and politicians supporting Bolsonaro ahead of the 2022 election.

Billionaire Elon Musk said he will lift restrictions imposed on some X accounts in Brazil, even if the move leads to the closing of the social media platform in the country.

X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, said in a post late Saturday that court decisions “forced” the site to block “certain popular accounts” in Brazil, without specifying the reasons or which posts allegedly violated the law. Shortly after, Musk wrote on the platform that he was defying the court’s ruling.

The social medial company said it is unaware why the blocking orders have been issued and is barred from giving details of the impacted accounts, adding that it is threatened with daily fines if it fails to comply.

“This judge has applied massive fines, threatened to arrest our employees and cut off access to X in Brazil,” Musk said when referring to a user’s post, opens new tab on Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes’ “free speech crackdown.”

Last year, Moraes also ordered an investigation into executives at social messaging platform Telegram and Alphabet’s (GOOGL.O), opens new tab Google, who were in charge of a campaign criticizing a proposed internet regulation bill.
