Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Interview clip confirms SHINee’s Lucifer was written By Bebe Rexha when she was 17.
Part of what makes K-Pop unique is the genre-bending sounds and often multilingual lyrics, appealing to a wider international audience.
Thanks to K-Pop’s increased global reach, many prominent Western artists have written legendary songs for K-Pop’s top stars.
Recently, American singer-songwriter, Bebe Rexha, was a guest on The Zach Sang Show, where she discussed her incredible music career and how she got her start.
Now 33 years old, the talented artist shared that she had her first “real hit” when she was 17, and it was a K-Pop song.
“Because I care, would you rather I lied to you? You gained 35 pounds obviously you gained weight and your face changes?”
The screenshot also hinted that Bebe Rexha was on the verge of breaking up with her boyfriend for allegedly fat-shaming her. However, the pop singer has not confirmed the same yet.
“I always said I would be honest with you and your face was changing so I told you it was…that was the conversation we were having and you asked,” the text read.
He then allegedly called her out for gaining “35 pounds.”
The text added, “Should I pretend it didn’t happen and that it’s ok? Come on I gain 3 pounds and you call me chubbs and fat. Doesn’t mean you don’t love me.”
Safyari allegedly argued that Rexha, 33, was “trying to find reasons to break up” with him.
“Don’t use something like that to weaponize your anger or anxiety or any insecurity you may have,” the text continued. “You know I have always found you to be beautiful and loved you no matter what.”
It’s unclear if Rexha and Safyari, who began dating in 2020, have officially called it quits.
Now, the pop star is again in the news again for tearing down her boyfriend Keyan Safyari in public whom she once called “a wonderful man” and “special.” A cinematographer by profession, Keyan Safyari allegedly body-shamed her on text, the screenshot of which was shared by Bebe Rexha on her Instagram story on Saturday, July 15. A part of the screenshot allegedly read: “You gained 35 pounds obviously you gained weight…”
Keyan Safyari is an Emmy-Award-winning cinematographer who won it in 2022 for his work on Adele: One Night Only in the Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, and Video Control category. He is also a director and a producer. He has worked on feature films, TV shows, commercials, and music videos alongside the likes of Billie Eilish and Cardi B.
While Western artists have collaborated with K-Pop artists on songs before, some artists have taken more of a behind-the-scenes role with writing and production credits or have had their songs sold to K-Pop companies.
American singer JoJo wrote f(x) Luna‘s solo song, “Free Somebody,” Bruno Mars wrote SHINee Taemin‘s “Press Your Number,” Kesha wrote Girls’ Generation‘s “Run Devil Run,” Zara Larsson wrote f(x)’s “Cash Me Out,” and there are many more examples.
