Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that military men have attacked Ngorongoro Maasai in Loliondo yesterday as they fought against land grabbing from the Tanzanian government. (Read More Here)?
According to Observer Watch, alleges the Tanzanian government wants to grab the ancestral lands from Ngorongoro Maasai and sell it to H.H Sheikh Mohammed, which would be turned into a private hunting ground.
Observer Watch reports: “This video shows heavily armed Militarized Police of the Republic of Tanzania attacking the Maasai people as part of a massive eviction from their ancestral land. The move is to provide @HHShkMohd a private hunting ground
#SaveTheMaasai.”
In the trending videos, the military men were seen shooting live bullets at the Ngorongoro Maasai in Loliondo. After the attack, a few deaths were announced and many people injured (check pictures below).
Taking to his platform, journalist, Liberatus, revealed that Maasai Activist, Issaya Olepose Laizer, has been arrested.
Liberatus reports: “Issaya Olepose Laizer amekamatwa na polis baada ya kutoa maoni Club House juu ya kauli za Waziri Mkuu Majaliwa Bunge. Laizer amekamatiwa Loliondo.”
Tundu Antiphas Lissu reports: “Ngorongoro Maasai defending their ancestral lands confront Samia Suluh Hassan’s paramilitary security forces. Dozens have reportedly been injured by gunshots. There’s total media blackout as Tanzania media has been intimidated into silence!
