Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Travis Scott hosted and surprised fans at a NYC screening of his new movie ‘Circus Maximus’.
Now, film production company A24, known for films such as 2022 Oscar winners The Whale and Everything Everywhere All At Once, is disavowing any involvement in Scott’s new film, Circus Maximus, despite being listed on a poster for the movie that Scott tweeted out on Tuesday. Little else is known about the film, which will see a limited release only in AMC Theatres on July 27. Indie cinema notables Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding-Refn, Harmony Korine, Valdimar Jóhannsson and Kahlil Joseph are listed as co-directors for the film, which will apparently also feature new music from Utopia…..
Even more perplexing is the impressive crew of directors attached to the project. It’s not uncommon for filmmakers to direct a music video every once in a while, but it’s rare to see this many attached to co-direct (which also indicates that Circus Maximus could be an anthology film of sorts). First on the list is Travis Scott himself, who currently has a directing credit on the project in addition to starring in it.
At least, we think that this is the same project. To promote the release of Scott’s upcoming album, Utopia, it was announced that a feature film titled Circus Maximus would be released in theaters.
Then on Wednesday, his massive concert slated to take place at the Pyramids of Giza outside of Cairo, Egypt, was abruptly canceled, with concert promoter Live Nation citing “complex production issues.” The concert, slated to take place Friday evening, was meant to celebrate the release of his new album Utopia, also set for release Friday.
