Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Tambo Memorial Hospital affected by the Gas tank explosion.
At least 8 people have been confirmed dead, with multiple injuries reported.
#Ekurhuleni councillor Simon Lapping said the explosion in #Boksburg’s devastation was second to none.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before, and I can’t believe it happened the day before Xmas.
“There must be a serious investigation into how a truck carrying LP Gas can go under a low-level bridge. Normally these trucks are not permitted to do so,” he also added.
While onlookers were still staring at the fire’s explosion, another explosion occurred.
Hence, emergency services had advised everyone to stay away from the area.
According to EMS spokesperson, William Ntladi:
At least eight people were killed.
Six Firefighter EMS personnel were hospitalized. The explosion destroyed the bridge and damaged nearby properties.
“So the subway bridge is completely destroyed.”
“A portion of the roof of the hospital’s casualty department has collapsed.”
“There are two nearby houses that have caught fire.”

According to preliminary reports, the Gas Tanker became stuck beneath the bridge before exploding.
A truck carrying gas bottles couldn’t fit under the Boksburg bridge.
As the driver forced his way through, the bottle exploded.
