Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that tabloids confirmed 40-year-old man, Alexander Scheuermann, is the driver who rammed into crowd of people in Mannheim.

According to the current status of the investigation, investigators do not believe that the crime had a political context. This is stated in a joint press release by the Mannheim public prosecutor’s office, the State Criminal Police Office and the Mannheim police headquarters. The police have also revised the number of injured from 14 to ten. Five of them were seriously injured.
According to BILD, the suspect has not yet come to the attention of the German security authorities in connection with extremism or terrorism. However, he is said to have had mental health problems before. The motive is currently not yet completely clear. However, the Mannheim public prosecutor’s office is not currently presenting itself from a political perspective.
Mannheim University Hospital said it was preparing for a “possible mass influx of injured people”. Currently, three patients classified as having a high level of medical emergency are receiving emergency medical care. There are two adults and one child.
Investigators have learned from BILD that two people were killed and at least 14 injured. However, it is not yet known exactly how high this figure is. Initially, there was talk of 25 injured.
