Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that SAPS, Sgt. Sathekge Mosibudi, murdered her own son, Sathekge Khutso Remembrance, with his 16-year-old girlfriend, Naledi Mmonoa, in Mokomene.

A female police officer aged 49, attached to Botlokwa police station was arrested on Thursday, 13 February 2025, at around 22h00, after it was reported that she shot and killed her 25-year-old son and injured his alleged girlfriend at her residence in Mokomene Mashaha, at Botlokwa policing area. On February 13, 2025, at approximately 21:48 in Mokomene Mashaha, Botlokwa Sgt. Sathekge Mosibudi of Botlokwa SAPS reported to her station that she had shot her son, Sathekge Khutso Remembrance, with her official firearm.  On arrival at the scene police officers found a firearm, which had six rounds in the magazine and one chambered on a table. Khutso was discovered deceased in a separate room with a bullet wound to the head and holding a butcher knife. Nearby, another victim, Naledi Mmonoa, approximately 16 years old, who is reported to be Khutso’s girlfriend, was found bleeding heavily from gunshot wounds to her head and chin.

Sgt Sathekge claimed that the shooting was in self-defense during an argument when Khutso threatened her with a knife. Five empty cartridges and two projectiles were found at the scene. EMS declared Khutso dead, and Naledi was transported to the hospital for care. The firearm was seized, and Sgt. Sathekge was arrested. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
