A 2012 Golden Gloves champion, Davis made his pro debut in 2013. Winning the IBF super-featherweight title in 2017, Davis lost the title that year after missing weight for a fight against Francisco Fonseca. In 2018, Davis won the WBA (Super) super-featherweight title and then became WBA (Regular) lightweight champion against Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2019.
Against Leo Santa Cruz in October 2020, Davis won via knockout to win the WBA (Super) super-featherweight title. Moving divisions again, Davis beat Mario Barrios to win the WBA (Regular) super-lightweight title.
Davis beat Romando Romero via TKO back in May. On January 7, 2023, he beat Hector Luis Garcia via TKO. A fight with Ryan Garcia is expected to take place at some point in 2023. Gervonta Davis has been a professional boxer since the age of 18. He has been boxing consistently for ten years straight now in the pro ranks, earning more and more money as his career progresses.
Up until recently, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather was Davis’ promoter. That is a telling factor as to how much money ‘Tank’ has made in his career. Given his nickname was ‘Money’, it comes as no surprise that Floyd Mayweather will have paid his fighters rather fruitfully.
