#PressRelease: The Government of Jamaica strongly condemns the gruesome and horrific murder of a 31-year-old mother and her four children including a toddler, in Clarendon this morning.
The children have been identified as 15-year-old Kimana Smith, Shemari Smith, 10, Kafana Smith, 5, and 23-month-old Kishaun Henry.
The grieving woman was comforted by Minister of Education and Youth Fayval Williams.
Police chase a taxi operator who allegedly transported the person of interest, 23-year-old Roshane Barnett, from this morning’s New Road, Clarendon murder scene where a mother and her four children were killed. The driver is now giving a statement at the Chapleton Police Station.
Jamaican prime minister wrote: “(1/2) I am devastated to learn of the gruesome killing of Kimesha Wright and her four children in Clarendon.
“I want to assure the public that this type of violence will not go without response and action from the government. (2/2) This murder represents an attack on our civility, on our sensibility & an attack on our Nation. I have been given assurance from the Min. of National Security & the Comm.of Police that all resources have been put in place to catch the perpetrator & bring him to justice.”
