South Africa Presidency has broken its silence as it revealed that President Cyril Ramaposa’s iPad wasn’t stolen or missing, rather the president was making a light-hearted point.

Recall that yesterday during a press conference, President of South Africa, Ramaposa went on the podium to say that he’s looking for his iPad and he suspected that someone had stolen it.

He says:

“I had my iPad.

Somebody stole my iPad. Somebody decided that they want to dispossess me of my iPad.

“This is the problem of always handing out your gadgets to other people” and it would be best if he were to keep his gadgets close at hand at all times.

I had my iPad, I had it in my hand. It’s gone. I’ve lost it, it seems.”

After the video went viral, South Africa Presidency took to Twitter to debunk the reports that President Ramaposa’s iPad was stolen at the function.

“Thank you, South Africa. There was no question of the iPad being missing or stolen. The president was making a light-hearted point while waiting for iPad to be brought to him – which it was before he began his remarks to media.”
