Four people were detained on Saturday at the swimming pool in Bytom. There were supposed to be inappropriate behavior of several men towards teenagers there. The aggressive mob tried to administer justice on its own. The police officers who were called to the scene had to use force.
The police confirm that they were forced to intervene because a crowd of about 100 people became aggressive towards the men in question. The aggression of the people later also transferred to the police.
It was necessary to call for reinforcements, and at some point also to use e.g. gas and shields.
During the hearing on Monday, the prosecutor is to decide on possible charges. As the city of Bytom informed on Facebook, “the men aged 18 to 55 detained for clarification are citizens of Georgia”.
