He says on Facebook: “This is what i saw, people suffocated and started collapsing it was very hard to breathe in that small space by the door with pepper spray even, i got pulled out losing my breath mistake yabo eEnyobeni is not having enough security by the door imagine 2 people stopping 100s of people pushing back and forth cause some wanted to come in by force while others wanted to get out ASAP due to pepper spray.” (Read More Here).
According to Lihle, he tried explaining that the crowd at the tavern began to increase when kids who were chase away from their pens down party. They decided to seek refuge in the tavern, nut were chased away by the guards due to the overcrowding of the place.
He says: “There wasn’t enough security to control the crowd that invaded from outside and that crowd were highschool and primary kids coming from a pens down party they got chased away from, they arrived around 1am since they know Enyobeni doesn’t close, they were refused entry but baPush.
“Apparently They came from a pens down party they were hosting i think it was at a park somewhere close but they got chased away there and they just decided to come to the event and forced getting inside cause as i was at the door trying to get out they kept pushing to get in.”
Adding more details, Brian Mapasa, says that the owner of tavern isn’t to be blamed, because he took care of the situation before leaving.
Brian says: “If the event was managed well and the owner left the venue when everything was okey and everything in control and everything suddenly goes out of control due to an unexpected crowd invading is it really the owners fault? Why are they being arrested.
“Uhmm but It’s not the owner who did, he arrived later cause on the news he said he got a call to rush to the venue and i believe by the time got there i was gone so he couldn’t have sprayed himself.”
In the trending video below, Brian Mapasa, is seen performing to the large crowd of teenagers at the Enyobeni tavern, before the tragic incident.
Brian says: “Minutes before i almost lost my life at #EnyobeniTavern. “God i am not going out like this asoze” andyaz noba that was a prayer or bendimxelela but it worked.”
Because a lot of people died people are expecting some major reason for the deaths whereas people died cause they couldn’t breathe we were stuck at one place with no air coming just breathing in pepper spray, some even fell down and never got back up just got stepped on.”
