Current Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has made his intentions clear on the aspect of tuition fees for university students in Ondo State.
Last night, the governorship candidates, Rotimi Akeredolu and PDP’s Eyitayo Jegede had an interesting debate before the forthcoming election takes place.
During the Ondo debate 2020, Eyitayo Jegede asked Rotimi if he would be prepared to reduce the tuition fees for university students and Rotimi said he can’t.

Eyitayo Jegede: “Will you be prepared to reduce the tuition fees to what operated before you came in, at least for university students?”
Rotimi Akeredolu: “Well, it’s something I believe this state can’t do. I’m not prepared to do it because we have responsibilities and those responsibilities were put on us by the government you served. The state has no business having three universities at the same time. Today, if we are allowing 25,000 when we had two universities. When you now have three universities, it’s a whole lot of responsibilities and I believe quite strongly for that matter that we are biting more than we can chop and from me… “
