What’s GhB? – Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, or GHB, is an illegal drug that is sometimes used as a ‘party drug’ in the dance and club scene. It produces feelings of euphoria, relaxation and sociability, and an increased urge for sex. GHB acts as a nervous system depressant and poses a risk for dependence. . Even a small increase in dose can cause serious effects or death.
GHB is often known as ‘liquid ecstasy’, but it is a completely different drug to ecstasy. Other names for GHB include grievous bodily harm (GBH) or fantasy.
How GHB is used
GHB was first manufactured and studied in the 1960s and used as a general anaesthetic. It was also widely available in the 1980s as a dietary supplement and bodybuilding product. GHB has since been withdrawn from use in many countries because of unwanted side effects. It is now an illegal (illicit) drug in Australia. GHB is sometimes used to spike drinks and has been involved in cases of sexual assault. It is easy to slip it into a drink, because it has no colour or smell and it can cause drowsiness, sleep and short-term memory loss. This means that victims may not be able to resist or recall a sexual assault. For this reason, it is sometimes known as a ‘date rape’ drug.

Kate Henshaw: “Teach your children temperance & discipline
Teach them contentment
Teach them good values
Guard the company they keep.
The story of Temidayo Awe is one of extreme sadness but also grief for her victim’s family.
7 years in jail for a rolex watch that turned out to be fake.Even if it was real, why kill someone for it?
How long will the money last you & your accomplices?
At 21??
Be careful of the lifestyle you portray on social media…
It’s a crazy world out there…
My thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family…”
Michael: Just watched a documentary of a young Nigerian lady, Temidayo Awe sentenced to 7 years for manslaughter & 6 years for conspiracy to commit robbery just because of Rolex. ‘’I’ve disappointed my mum’’.
You can never underestimate the importance of contentment.
Cynthia: Just saw the Temidayo Awe video. It’s chilling. Don’t get involved in robbery, murder, violent attack leading to manslaughter charges or anything criminal. The law will catch up with you. Money comes with hard and smart work. And it doesn’t come overnight.
Priscilla: E reach murder case now, I’m seeing “Temidayo Awe is not a Nigerian” but if she had won a gold medal at the Olympics representing England, y’all won’t hesitate to claim her as Nigerian. Bunch of hypocrites.
