Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Nigerian-American beautician, Jackie Aina, under fire for using Sòrò Sókè to name her candles available on Sephora.

Taking to social media, Forvr Mood, shared a video showing moments from Jackie Aina’s birthday party, which she celebrated in an Afrocentric way.

In the process, a candle pack with ‘Sòrò Sókè’ was seen and immediately triggered Nigerians.

Forever: “Welcome to Owambe! We are celebrating life and inviting you all to be a part of it. The collection features 4 new fragrances: Sòrò Sókè, No Wahala, Soft Life and Spice of Life. All candles are available NOW on our website and @sephora.”

Matthew wrote: “People died. A whole generation of Nigerians FOREVER traumatised just so Jackie Aina could sell a candle you know. There is no insult deep enough I could say right now. I am fucking spun.”

Bamidele wrote: “Hey @jackieaina. Please leave #Endsars and everything related to it out of your Nigerian cosplay. It’s beyond disrespectful to those we lost and those of us that spent two weeks under the sun protesting for our lives.

Thanks and remain blessed.”

Oluwaseun wrote: “Jackie Aina’s representation of Nigerian and Yoruba culture is just as fake as those white people she complains about.

This giving annoying Wakanda and black panther vibes.

There’s nothing Owambe about this.”

Patrick wrote: “Jackie Aina is disgusting for that. Her and her fellow Nigerian American celebs were digitally flogged to speak up… constantly using Nigerianess for profit but mute when your own need you. Nasty. The lot of them.”

Daniel wrote: “Dear Non-Nigerians,

The reason why this is receiving so much backlash is because Jackie Aina shamelessly named one of the candles “Soro Soke” which translates into “speak up”.

It was one of the rallying cries during EndSars. But Jackie was notably silent during the protests.”
