Ghanaian food vlogger, Nanaaba’s Kitchen, has dropped a new video on how to prepare or make Ghana’s Palm Nut & Peanut Soup/Nkatebe (Omotuo – Rice balls, beans and spinach) Recipe. 


In the video, Nanaaba showed us how to prepare or make Palm Nut and Peanut Soup/Nkatebe. 


Ingredients used:

For Meat and Marinade:

1. 2 lbs each smoked and fresh turkey wings 

2. Thumb size ginger 

3. 1 large onion 

4. 1 tbsp garlic paste 

5. 1 habanero chili

6. 1/4 tsp aniseed

7. 1/4 tsp coriander seed

8. 1 tsp homemade AP Seasoning cubes

9. Salt

10.1/4 tsp crushed Black pepper 

11. 2 tbsp tomato paste 

12. 5 small bay leaves 

13. 1/4 cup water 


For Soup:

1. 1 cup roasted peanuts 

2. 2 cups water (add to peanuts, tomato and onion blend)

3. 3 Roma tomatoes or any tin tomatoes 

4.  1/2 large onion 

5. 1 prekese (Aidan fruit) 

6. 2 cups palm nut cream 

7. 4 cups hot water (add to palm nut cream mix) 

Ingredients for Beans:

1. 1 cup black eyed beans soaked for 2 hours, rinsed. 

2. 2&1/2 cups water 

3. 1 tbsp meat marinade 

4. Pinch of crushed black pepper 

Ingredients for spinach:

1. 6 cups fresh spinach

2. 2 ladles Nkatebe soup 

3. Pinch salt and pepper 

Ingredients for Rice Balls:

1. 2 cup jasmine rice

2. 6 cups water 

3. Salt
