In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the Rustenburg community, prominent businessman Ben Jabu Gumbi met a tragic end earlier today. The shooting took place at a well-known coffee shop located on Kock Street, and initial reports suggest that it may be linked to business dealings.
The incident occurred in broad daylight, leaving witnesses and onlookers stunned and alarmed. Rustenburg, a city known for its vibrant business community, is now grappling with the aftermath of this shocking act of violence.
Ben Jabulani Gumbi was ambushed in front of Platō Coffee on Kock Street at around 8 AM on Wednesday. One of the assailants approached Gumbi while he was engrossed in his mobile phone. Without any warning, the gunman wearing a white hat, fired three close-range shots, fatally striking Gumbi in the head. As he crumpled to the ground, the other gunman fired a final shot before both assailants swiftly fled the scene.
The incident was caught on CCTV and the footage has been doing rounds on X, popularly known as Twitter. In the CCTV footage, social media users noted how eerily similar Gumbi’s assassination was to multi-award-winning rapper AKA’s.
