Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that his 7-year-old grandson recently asked him why Nigerians call him “Liar Mohammed.” (Read More Here).
According to Lai Mohammed, he says what would he had said to a little boy. He said that he told his grandson not to mind Nigerians and people who call him “Liar Mohammed.”
He says:
“When my 7-year-old grandson called me and said grandpa, tell me the truth, why do they call you Liar Mohammed?
I looked at him, what do you say to a 7-year-old son. How do explain politics to him. I said don’t mind them.”

In another news, Lai Mohammed had disclosed that NBC and The Nigerian government want to regulate social media.
Section two (b) of the NBC act states, “(1) The Commission shall have [the] responsibility of: Receiving, processing and considering applications for the establishment, ownership or operation of radio and television stations including (i) cable television services, direct satellite broadcast and any other medium of broadcasting.”
He said during a public hearing:
“I want to add here specifically that internet broadcasting and all online media should be included in this because we have a responsibility to monitor contents, including Twitter.”
