The father of a grade 10 pupil who was stabbed and killed at Geluksdal Secondary School in Ekurhuleni has described the death of his son as “losing his whole world”.

Shawn Mphela (18) was stabbed during a brawl at the school on Thursday.

His father Seun Mahlangu says that he had tried everything in his powers to protect his son.

“Justice failed me and failed my son. Because I did everything to protect my son, I went to the police. They never worked nor helped me.

“Because no one helped me. Even the school itself, I was going to school every two months every two weeks or two months I’ll be at school but nothing. They didn’t help me until my child was dead. Maybe they were waiting for that. But now I lost the whole world.”

Mphela reportedly sustained his injuries during a fight with three other pupils from the same school.
