Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jowie Irungu caught lying as he was hanging out with Monica Kimani and her bro that was retrieved from his phone, his voice is clear in the background.

Information reads: “A video of Jowie Irungu hanging out with Monica Kimani and her bro that was retrieved from his phone, his voice is clear in the background.
Jowie had lied to the court that he did not know the deceased.”
Jowie Irungu, a name that has resonated within the Kenyan media sphere for reasons beyond just music, has recently made headlines for a very different reason. Following a court ruling where he was found guilty of murder, Jowie released a gospel song titled “Nakuabudu“. The timing of the release, just moments after the verdict, adds a poignant layer to the song’s message and Irungu’s personal journey.

He was born and raised in Nakuru and is the second born in a family of four, two boys and two girls.

He is also said to have schooled at the Kenya Polytechnic (currently known as Technical University of Kenya) before he left for Dubai.

Jowie first came to the limelight in June 2018 when he proposed to his now ex-girlfriend Jacque Maribe who at the time was a News anchor at Citizen TV.

At the time, the photos and videos he shared on his Instagram page depicted someone who worked in the security sector in the United Arab Emirates and after the engagement with Maribe, he always teased plans to open a high-end security firm in Kenya.

The trial of the killer of Ms Kimani, who had links to South Sudan, has gripped Kenya, even though no motive for her killing has been established.

The main suspect was Mr Irungu, who previously worked as a security officer for a private firm in Dubai and provided VIP security for a number of politicians in Kenya.

Mr Irungu was identified by several witnesses as the last person to see Ms Kimani alive at her apartment. He entered the complex with an ID card belonging to another person.

Ms Kimani was found tied up in a bathtub by her brother and his girlfriend after they failed to contact her.

Mr Irungu tried to defend himself by saying that he did not know Ms Kimani, but the judge debunked this and said they both attended Kenya Polytechnic and were in the same class.

Mr Irungu will remain in custody until he is sentenced on 8 March.
