On the 8 Of June 2005
Six friends went to have a good time at a night club in Abuja. While at the club, a police officer began making passes at the only girl in their midst. (Read More Here).
This led to a scuffle between the boys and the police officer who felt the girl had no right to turn him down.
It was said the police officer walked out of the bar angry and embarrassed after the fight.
For the boys, they won the fight, But to the police man, the fight was not over.
After the friends finished partying, they set to go home. On their way home, they were stopped by a group of police officers at a checkpoint. To their surprise, one these police officers happened to be the same police officer they had just fought at the club.
This Stop Would Be Their Very Last Stop on the surface of this earth… as they were instantly sprayed with bullets. Shot at and fired at.
4 of them were killed on the spot… the other two were taken to the station where one (the girl) was strangled to death and the other, executed with a bullet to his head.
They were accused of being armed robbers and guns were planted on their bodies… The police tried to paint the picture to the public that they were armed robbers caught in operation…
Unfortunately for the police… the rest of the world knew the truth and this led to one of the biggest most controversial legal cases in the history of Nigeria.
True Crime Daniel reports: “The Apo Six tells the story of Ifeayin Ozor a young trader at Apo Market Abuja who hung out with 4 of his friends (all traders in the same market) Along with his new found love Augustina Arebu who had come all the way from Abuja to visit him on the 7th of June 2005. A night of part and clubbing soon turned into a night that would last forever in the memories of anyone who remembers the story that shook an entire Nation in 2005.
