Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jared Leto becomes the first American to legally climb the Empire State Building to promote new Thirty Seconds to Mars tour.
Getting 30 seconds closer to mars had a special meaning, as the Dallas Buyers Club actor used the moment to promote his band’s upcoming world tour in support of their latest album, It’s The End Of the World But It’s a Beautiful Thing.
“We’re launching a world tour,” he said. “Thirty Seconds to Mars is back on the road. It was in celebration of the tour and doing those things that you aspire to do.”
The Oscar-winning actor climbed to the top of the historic building to promote the release of his and brother Shannon Leto’s band Thirty Seconds to Mars’ Seasons 2024 World Tour.
“The building is a testament of all the things that can be done in the world if we put our minds to it, which is largely the inspiration behind our most recent album, It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day,” Jared said in a statement of the significance of the climb. The sixth studio album for Thirty Seconds to Mars was released in September.
“You climb right into bed,” he quipped.
Thirty Seconds to Mars’ (Jared and Shannon Leto) Seasons World Tour 2024 is set to kick off in Latin America on March 15, before going to Europe, then North America starting July 26. The show is set to wrap in New Zealand on Sept. 19. “I’ve had a fascination with the Empire State Building, the ‘world’s number one attraction,’ since I was a kid,” Leto wrote on Instagram alongside footage of his major moment. “Not sure if it was Guinness world records, King Kong, but something about this iconic structure always captured my imagination. Built in just 13 short months, in one of the greatest cities in the world it has always been a powerful symbol to me of all the possibilities in life.”
He shared with his 11.5 million followers his love for the sport and added, “As many of you also know, I love to climb. It’s one of the few things I’ve found that takes me away from some of the pressures of life and helps me to find a bit of freedom and equanimity.”
