Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo Olu has paid a visit to the tragic scenes at Abule Ado this morning(monday).
While addressing the people of Abule Ado, he revealed that he has set up a 2billion naira relief fund and also opened three account numbers with three different banks.
In the video, he said:
“I have setup a 2billion relief fund and the state government will be putting 250million naira in that fund.
And overnight, I have gotten three banks to open an account for that fund.
And what I will trying to achieve? – This is certain beyond what state government can undertake on its own.
This is beyond the government be it at national or state can also say overtake at its own.
So, I am aware that my fellow governors have called and I have also received phone calls from the private sectors.
And so what this fund will do is to give everybody the opportunity to be part of it and to donate in it.
Of course, the utilization of this fund, which will also be headed by the deputy governor, will also be part of the responsible that the committee will be saddled with.
And just for you to know that I am serious and committed to it, I have three account numbers already.
