Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as, Burnaboy, landed in his hometown or city, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after many years of leaving the city for greener pasture.
He was received by a large crowd and fans after he landed at Legend Business Jets Terminal, in Port Harcourt. Fans were super excited to see him and he was being hailed or called, “Odogwu.”
His Homecoming was organised to celebrate him for making Rivers State proud for winning a Grammy (an internationally recognised award). His album, “Twice As Tall” won the category for “Best Global Music Album” at the 2021 (63rd) Grammy award ceremony.
He performed and thrilled his fans to all his hit songs, from “Odogwu” to “Onyeka”, etc. He was paid N100M by Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism. After his arrival, he went straight to the Government House with his parents, where he was asked many questions about music and so on.
After all the artistes had performed on stage last night, Governor Nyesom Wike, thanked them for honouring the invitation. While on stage, Gov. Wike announced that he would be giving additional N10M to all the singers that had performed. He also announced gifting Burnaboy a plot of land at Old GRA and money to build whatsoever on the piece of land.
