Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo Olu, has gifted a 3-bedroom apartment to a Nollywood veteran actress, Mrs. Lanre Hassan, popularly known as, Iya Awero, in Ikorodu.
Yesterday, Governor Sanwo, his deputy Governor, Dr. Femi Hamzat and Honourable Jimi Benson (Member of House of Representative for Ikorodu Federal Constituency) were at Ikorodu to commission the newly built Lagos State Housing Estate.
During the commissioning of the housing estate, Governor Sanwo announced he would be giving a new flat for free to Mama Awero; a Nigerian legendary actress. After Mrs. Lanre had received her keys to her apartment, she thanked the Governor and his deputy for comforting her with a new house.
According to Governor Sanwo in his post on Instagram, he revealed that he also gave apartments each to two exceptional members of the State teaching staff. He wrote:
“We also rewarded 2 exceptional members of the State teaching staff with completed three bedroom apartments for winning national education awards for their excellence.
They are the Principal of Government Junior College in Ketu-Epe, Mr. Dunni Ikuseyi (Principal of the Year) and recipient of Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Elusakin of Oriwu Model College.
I encourage them to keep up the good work and I ask members of the State teaching staff to continue to strive for excellence as we collectively take the state’s educational system to new heights.”
