In Magdeburg, Germany, a car deliberately drove into a crowd at a Christmas market, killing at least eleven people and injuring around 60, with some in critical condition, according to the Magdeburger Volksstimme. The suspect, identified as a 50-year-old Saudi national, has been arrested by local police, though his name has not been disclosed. Witnesses noted the vehicle deliberately targeted the crowd, heading towards the town hall. Official confirmation of the casualty numbers is still pending from local authorities.
This event recalls a similar tragedy eight years ago in Berlin, where a truck attack at a Christmas market resulted in 12 deaths.
