Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that QC police arrest ex-VP candidate Walden Bello in his house in Quezon City at around 4 this afternoon, according to his staff Leomar Doctolero.
This is in connection with the cyber libel case filed by former Davao City info officer Jefry Tupas.
Tupas filed the cyber libel case against Bello in March this year after the then-VP candidate accused Tupas of being a drug dealer and of being involved in a drug raid in a TV interview. (Read More Here).
Tupas denied both allegations. Doctolero on Walden Bello’s arrest:
The resolution for his indictment was released last June 9. We filed for a Motion for Reconsideration with the Prosecutors’ Office which was subsequently denied.
A Twitter user wrote: “Walden Bello, who has voiced inconvenient truths throughout his distinguished academic and political career, does not deserve arrest or legal harassment. I join the call for his protection and immediate release.”
