Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Foreigners being deported at Durban South Beach Point.
Over 100 illegal foreigners have been arrested by police in the Durban CBD, as police raid buildings in the Point area looking into the issues of illegal firearms and hijacked buildings
KZN police conducted an intelligence-driven operation in the Point on Tuesday targeting illegally occupied buildings and undocumented foreign nationals.
Some 123 people were arrested.
Drugs, ammunition, and counterfeit money were also recovered.
The suspects were taken to uMbilo and Durban Central police stations to be formally charged.
Cyril Mncwabe, who is with the Home Affairs Department, says some of them did produce their documentation at the stations.
Ethekwini mayor Cyril Xaba says he is ready to stamp out criminality in the inner city.
He says undocumented foreign nationals must be swiftly deported.
But, Xaba admits one-off raids will not revive the country’s playground.
He says there must be follow ups so criminals feel the might of the state.
