Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African superstar, Portia Modise, has recounted her racism experiences in Denmark.
While on Podcast and Chill With MacG today, Portia Modise, shared some of experiences during her stay in Denmark and how the Danish treated her due to the fact she’s African.
Firstly, she talked about how the Danish saw Africans and other stereotypes; such as: Africans living in trees, sleeping with lions and others.
She says: “They viewed me as a person who walks next to lions and sends monkeys to do my errands because that is the stereotype that they have about Africa.”
She continues as she talked about how she was shown a microwave and the Danish asked her if she knows anything about a microwave.
She says: “I remember when they took me to shopping, they bought a microwave and asked me if I knew what it was. So, I said no, I don’t know what it is. I was acting foolish.”
