Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Fivio Foreign had some malfunctions during his halftime performance at the Brooklyn Nets game.

However, things took a turn on Tuesday (October 17) when the Say My Name rapper was selected as the halftime performer for the Brooklyn Nets’ home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. Fivio tried his best to perform a medley of his hit records, but his audio was began to work against him. As the backtrack audio played throughout the arena, the B.I.B.L.E. star was having a hard time keeping up with the words.

Fans wasted no time hopping on social media to critique Fivio’s performance. “I wonder if this how i be sounding in the shower without the music,” one user joked. “The dancers even messing up. They wrong for this,” another viewer added. Despite the backlash, a few fans did have compassion for Foreign’s shaky performance. “You can tell it wasn’t his fault, doesn’t make it any less funny though. Shoulda lip-rapped dat thang.”

Aside from the sketchy performance, Fivo is still making waves on the music scene. Earlier this month, he was nominated at the BET Hip Hop Awards for Breakthrough Artist of the year. Ultimately, the award went to GloRilla — however, fans believed Fivio was a better suitor for the trophy. He took to Twitter to respond to claims that he was robbed of the win, tweeting, “I did not get robbed.. GloRilla won cuz she deserved it & ima Happy for her.”

It wasn’t exactly the start to the year that the Nets had envisioned.

Brooklyn fell behind by as much as 18 points in the first half and then by 25 in the second half as they dropped the season opener 130-108 to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Nets issues that plagued them last season appeared to rear their ugly heads yet again on a night where Kevin Durant was the only Net who really shined.

The Nets fell behind quickly after the opening tip-off and spent the entire night playing catchup to the Pelicans. The loss marked the ninth time that the Nets have dropped a season opener since they moved to Brooklyn, with their only wins coming on Dec. 12, 2020, when they defeated Golden State and their inaugural season at Barclays in 2012 when they beat Toronto.

Echoing the sentiment, another user tweeted, “Fivio foreign performing at the nets sounds like your friend trying to sing karaoke that don’t know the words.” Similarly, one person joked, “Fivio Foreign is doing the halftime show for the #Nets and it’s like he’s trying to perform the songs after just hearing them for the first time five minutes before.”

“Fivio foreign is soooo off beat on the nets halftime show lmaoooo,” another comment read. One other recalled that Fivio had the same problem during his set at Kanye West’s “Donda” concert. “Not really his fault. IT f**ked him over,” the person noted.

One user, meanwhile, criticized the backup dancers. “How can your rapping, the dancers and the sound quality all be offbeat? Sheeeeesh. He pissed somebody off in the control room or sum’n,” the user opined.

Fivio has yet to comment on the backlash.
