Eva Marcille shared her thoughts on Nicki Minaj not being nominated for a Grammy after the full list of nominees for next year’s awards ceremony was revealed.
Despite landing multiple chart entries with her songs “Do We Have A Problem” and “Super Freaky Girl,” the Recording Academy decided not to acknowledge either for an actual nomination.
Eva passionately defended Nicki as she ranted over the fact that the “Hard White” hitmaker has yet to attain one Grammy despite her long reign as one of the best-selling and most awarded female rappers of all time. “[She] been deserved a Grammy,” the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said.
“Y’all stop playing. Y’all play too much. And then you think it’s cute, and it’s social media — y’all play too much,” she reiterated. “The male rappers can go out and say and do whatever, and pop whatever, however, and it’s cool, right? […] She been deserved her Grammy.” As for her thoughts on Latto’s nomination, Eva continued, “I’m here for lil mama, but please, don’t think it can’t be more than one Queen in the building.”
