Nigerian honourable, Desmond Elliott, has reacted the rumours that he was supporting the proposed social media bill at the meeting today at Lagos House of Assembly.
Desmond Elliott supporting Social media bill was made known by a doctor on social media, Dr. Olufunmilayo in his tweet. According to Funmi, he says Desmond Elliott is said to be one of those supporting the social media bill.
“The Lagos State House of Assembly is developing a bill to regulate and control speech on social media. Desmond Elliott is said to be one of those pushing this.
So the plan is to deny the Lekki Massacre and then start arresting anyone who tweets about it?
What’s wrong with us?”- Dr. Olufunmilayo.
Taking to his phone, Desmond made a video as he denies involving himself in the social media bill. In the video, he says no one at the State level has the jurisdiction to propose any bill because it’s duty of the Executive level/Federal Government.
Desmond also advises Nigerian celebrities and Influencers to tune it down on their hate narratives.
