“Corporations socialize their losses while they privatize their gains” – Jon Stewart says in new video.

Stewart compared corporate DEI initiatives to the Rooney Rule, which was implemented 21 years ago by the NFL with the goal of increasing the number of Black people and people of color hired in head coach, general manager, and executive positions.

When it came to delivering the news, polls and reviews suggested Stewart was the “most trusted man in America,” Salon reported. He is credited with changing American politics and jumpstarting the career of many of the most notable comedians including Trevor Noah, Jessica Williams and Hasan Minaj.

Jon Stewart was known for being hilarious when he hosted — usually looking shaken and not smiling — “The Daily Show,” a satirical news program in which he claimed he was a “fake newsman.”

But Stewart was not kidding during his years on the show (1999–2015) and he wasn’t kidding last weekend when he talked about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the workplace during a March 26 CNN interview with Fareed Zakaria.

Stewart check in with North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper to find out why states engage in some of these practices to attract businesses, even though it hurt workers.

“As governor, one of the reasons I’m trying to attract the better-paying jobs is because it’s gonna raise the wages of our families. At the same time, I’m fighting the legislature about raising the minimum wage. They won’t do it. They refuse to do it. And one of the reasons why we’re trying to attract these companies and are successfully doing it,” Copper continued, “that raises the boat here in the harbor that everybody is gonna do better.”

Last week, Stewart shared a video message refuting Sen. Ted Cruz’s reasons for switching his vote from “yes” to “no” on the act, which initially had strong bipartisan support.

GOP Sen. Pat Toomey responded to Stewart’s claims of “bulls—,” retorting that the comedian is a “pseudo-celebrity” who is making up “false accusations” over the Republican reversal.

That’s part of what upset him so much, he explained about “that troll guy” who tried to disrupt his protest with veterans. “I was so mad at myself,” he said, “because one of the things that was keeping this from being done was all this misinformation and this was a dude who was putting out a lot of it. And stirring up this whole group.”

Brown has been a leading voice in advocating for the passage of this legislation. Recently, while in Ohio, he joined veterans and their families who have been harmed by exposure to toxic burn pits to discuss this bill.

Brown recently joined SFC Robinson’s family to urge his Senate colleagues to keep their promise to our veterans and pass the PACT Act. In March, Brown welcomed Heath’s widow Danielle Robinson to Washington D.C. for President Biden’s first State of the Union Address. Robinson was invited to be the guest of First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.
