It’s been reported that parents and their children have ran away from Geidam. The reason is due to the almost-constant attacks from Boko Haram and ISWAP in the area.
In the video shared by The Daily Trust, children and their parents were seen running away from their homes in Geidam due to attacks from Boko Haram. According to a source, it was revealed that the residents in Geidam had to run away due to fear of another deadly attack from Boko Haram.
In another news, over 30 Nigerian soldiers were killed as Boko Haram sacked military base in Borno. The attack was carried out by a subdivision of Boko Haram, known as, The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) – formerly known as, Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād. Mainok is the headquarters of the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno state.
A source told the Sahara Reporters: “The military super camp in Borno was attacked today by Boko Haram members with our men putting up a strong fight to defend base and ward off the insurgents.
“But despite their gallant efforts, the soldiers were overwhelmed because they could not withstand the superior firepower of the terrorists. So far, we have recovered over 30 bodies of dead soldiers.”
