“Bro, you ain’t healthy” – Stephen A. Smith dissed and sent a message to Lonzo Ball after reporting that he has issues sitting.

The last season that Ball played was 2021-22, playing only 35 games before being shut down by the Bulls organization. In the games he played, he averaged 13.0 points per game (42.3% shooting, including 42.3% from 3-point range), 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists.

Ball missed the entire 2022-23 season as he recovers from his injury.

The video received numerous reactions from NBA fans and other media outlets with some calling out Smith for spreading false information.

However, Stephen A. Smith had some words as well in response to Ball’s video which he voiced on ESPN’s “First Take.”

“You really going to sit poolside on the bench and think because you getting up and sitting down … that makes you healthy?” Smith asked. “Does that have anything to do with running up and down the damn court for 30-35 minutes a night?”

After hearing the comments Smith spewed on ESPN on Tuesday, Ball issued a response on social media, taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, in order to clear the air and even call out the analyst.

Ball tagged Smith in an X video, for which the caption read, “@stephenasmith come to the actual source next time. I’m not hard to reach.”

In the video, Ball sounded off on the ESPN analyst and questioned who his sources were.

TEXT MESSAGE VIDEO: Stephen A. Smith says Michael Jordan texted him to tell him that Magic Johnson is greater than Steph Curry.

So what does Stephen A do today? He comes out with a text from MICHAEL f’n JORDAN of all people.

Or so we are supposed to think.

Some on the Internet think Smith made it up but he has to be absolutely crazy to do that. You’re going to make up a text from Jordan of all people? If Smith were to get called out on it there would be such a massive pushback that his career would take a massive hit. You can make things up about Lonzo Ball if you want (well, not really), but you start lying about texts from Jordan and that’s a different ball game… kind of like when Magic played point compared to Curry.

Jordan did add in his message to Smith that he believes Curry is “by far the best shooter of all time.” However, Jordan wrote that Johnson “invented the triple-double” and pointed out that Magic has five NBA titles, one more than Curry.

Of course, Johnson and Jordan’s careers overlapped, with the two sharing the floor on the 1992 “Dream Team” with USA Basketball. Still, arguably the sport’s greatest player ever weighing in on this debate is big news, and Jordan clearly put plenty of thought into his message to Smith.

“I beg to differ on greatest point guard of all-time. Magic Johnson is easily the best PG of all-time. Steph Curry is very close, but not in front of Magic.”

Michael Jordan’s text to Stephen A. Smith, which he read live on First Take this morning. The debate began when Stephen Curry proclaimed himself the best point guard in NBA history in a podcast appearance with Gilbert Arenas earlier this week. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith backed Curry over Magic Johnson in a close decision. But on First Take Wednesday morning, Smith revealed that Michael Jordan had texted him a take on the matter.

“Although greatest of anything is always a debate, I beg to differ on greatest point guard of all-time… Magic Johnson is easily the best point guard of all time. Steph Curry is very close, but not in front of Magic,” Jordan said, per Smith.

The timing couldn’t be better for Stephen A, who this week has been getting absolutely slammed by professional athletes and social media for claiming things that the players say aren’t true. On Monday, Smith said that Stefon Diggs wasn’t happy in Buffalo with the Bills, to which Diggs said Smith should get better sources.

Then yesterday, Lonzo Ball released a video absolutely obliterating Smith after he made comments about how injured Zo still was.
