Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Black American woman refused to get out of the car afternoon her boyfriend took her to a Cheesecake factory during lunch date…
He agrees, adding: ‘I went into the date with expectations for myself – to keep you safe, to respect you, to pay for your food, to pick you up – and just treat you like a gentleman [should]. Which I believe I have done.
‘I, on the other hand, have certain expectations for a girl I go out with on a first date. I expect her to be respectful too, I expect her to be cooperative.’
The woman repeatedly fixes her hair and makes it clear that she is unconvinced.
She replies: ‘I feel like I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do as a woman. I got myself all made up…’
Before she can finish her sentence, her date interjects: ‘But there is nothing wrong with The Cheesecake Factory.’
He then reveals that he had agreed to pick her up at 4pm but that she did not come down from her apartment for another hour without him being invited up to wait.
She justifies that she does not know him well enough yet, to which he bites back: ‘That’s why I’m saying, I’m thinking, okay, if we’re not there in the relationship to meet at your apartment then maybe we’re not ready in the relationship for such a nice, fancy restaurant – especially if I am paying for the whole thing.’
He reveals that he had made a reservation elsewhere but that the unforeseen delay meant they missed it – and so The Cheesecake Factory was the backup option.
The woman, seemingly unimpressed, murmurs, “He got me at The Cheesecake Factory, y’all. I ain’t getting out this car.”
This refusal to exit the vehicle and her locking the door prompted a bit of a struggle as the man tried to regain access. The woman, visibly upset, finally rolls down her window and confronts her date about their choice of venue. She goes on to express her disdain for a chain restaurant as a first-date location and questions why he would take someone who looks like her to such an establishment.
The debate intensifies as the man in the video asks her if she expects him to “go all out on the first date.” The woman believes that her appearance warrants special treatment, insisting that if a man is courting a woman, he should cherish and treat her well.
“So you just want to call it a night?” she asks.
“I mean, isn’t there some kind of compromise or something?”
“Ladies, can you believe this?” she asks into the camera as the man fastens his seat belt and starts to drive away
The man initially planned to take her to a nicer restaurant but changed his mind due to her tardiness in getting ready. In the controversial clip, which has so far been viewed more than 2.8 million times, the unnamed woman can be seen sitting in the passenger seat of a car.
Dressed in a plunging neon green dress, she stares directly at the camera from behind a pair of statements shades.
Her date can be heard in the background saying he will walk round to open her door but, as soon as he exits the car, she expresses her dismay.
The woman states: ‘He’s got me at The Cheesecake Factory.’
She locks the door, shakes her head and waggles her finger disapprovingly as her date appears outside her door.
He knocks and she eventually winds down the window before saying with disgust: ‘This is The Cheesecake Factory. This is a chain restaurant.
‘Who takes someone that looks like this to a chain restaurant.’
The man is understandably perplexed but says he is happy to talk things through despite her filming their exchange.
