Atirador invade comemoração em Magé, no Rio, e dispara contra dezenas de pessoas. Quatro pessoas morreram na hora e outras 16 ficaram feridas.
There are reports that four people died and another 20 were injured after a gunman invaded a Carnival party, in Magé, Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, on the night of this Sunday (19). The shooting took place during the parade of the Bloco das Piranhas.
Among the fatal victims, a child who would have been 9 or 10 years old . Among the injured are two other children, aged 6 and 11, and a 15-year-old teenager; all were rescued and sent to the Hospital Adão Pereira Nunes, also in Baixada Fluminense. A woman, wounded in her right thigh and abdomen, had to be transferred to the Hospital Municipal Doutor Moacyr Rodrigues do Carmo.
The prefecture of Magé released a note in which it “deeply regrets what happened during the dispersal of the Bloco das Piranhas, this Sunday (19), around 11 pm, in Mauá, when a possible fight involving a policeman resulted in fatalities and injuries.”
“Despite not promoting Carnival, the city hall was supporting the blocks, including more than 40 men from the Civil Guard and Public Order, plus 120 private security guards, in addition to all the support from the 34th BPMERJ. Our Health and Social Assistance networks are giving full support to the victims and their families. The city hall has determined the suspension of support for the Carnival program in the city and is calling on all blocks to cancel their parades”, highlighted the note.
