Another tragedy has occurred in Lagos State barely three weeks apart. Recall weeks ago, there was the first gas explosion at Ajuwon-Ishaga Road. Today, another gas explosion has hit Ipaja-Ayobo Road, Lagos State.
In the early hours of Thursday, October 8, 2020, Bestroof Gas Plant at Unity bustop off Fatade Road, Ipaja-Ayobo exploded leaving 3 people dead and many properties destroyed. Properties such as: cars, shops and houses.
An eyewitness says it took an hour plus for the fire service to arrive at the scene. The eyewitness narrated:
“Just now the fire service just arrived after an hour plus we called them.
This is the fire still burning. The fire service just arrived now after we called them. Deed has been done.
This is what we get. If government had done what they are supposed to do, this gas station is not supposed to be where people are living.”
