A 27-year-old Durban Metro Police officer was arrested for allegedly stabbing his pregnant girlfriend, also a Metro Police officer, to death in their flat on Joseph Nduli Street.
The incident occurred during a drinking session, and the suspect purportedly recorded videos and pictures of the victim’s last moments, sharing them with multiple people, including on social media.
While alcohol abuse may have played a role, the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
