Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that 10 Public Health students of KU are dead as Kenyatta University bus collided with lorry at at Maungu, Taita Taveta County.
The accident involving the university bus and a trailer was reported in Maungu, Voi, Taita Taveta County resulting in the death and injuries of several students.
From the photos circulating online, the university bus appeared to be hit from the back by the loaded trailer which mostly affected the students seating in the rear seats.
Tens of occupants of the ill-fated bus who were injured were rushed to the Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi. A multidisciplinary team was doing evacuation at the scene by the time of going of to press.
Some of the students were seen motionless on the ground as eyewitnesses attempted to rescue the injured before police arrived.
Police and an emergency response team from the county arrived at the scene to assess the situation, offer emergency care to the injured and ferry the bodies to the local mortuaries.
