US District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich decided she’d had enough of the weak excuses offered up in defense of MAGA Proud Boy Barry Ramey, charged with assaulting police by pepper spraying them while wearing tactical gear. Prosecutors pointed to his wearing the gear as proof that he had violent intentions.

Ramey’s defense attorney, however, claimed that Ramey didn’t bring the pepper spray, he found it, and that he was only wearing a tactical vest for defensive purposes and knee pads to protect his “vulnerable knees.”

The judge could tolerate no more, and called bull on all of it. “That doesn’t ring true to me,” she said. “I have common sense.”

Ramey was slammed with 5 years in prison.

Do you believe January 6th offenders are being sentenced harshly enough to serve as a deterrent for future would-be insurrectionists, or do you think their sentences could go further?
