A young mother who was kidnapped from a DeKalb County daycare by her ex-boyfriend knew she was going to die when she phoned her relatives to say goodbye.

DeKalb police responded to a domestic violence call on Wednesday afternoon at the Education Elevation Children’s Academy on Snapfinger Park Circle, WSB-TV reported.

Police said 22-year-old Taco Nash followed 21-year-old Mi’Ckeye Montgomery to the daycare, where he confronted her, as she arrived to pick up their 16-month-old daughter, Khloe.

Nash reportedly kidnapped Montgomery and Khloe, forcing them into a nearby wooded area, where he killed Montgomery in front of the child, sister, Chancierra Coleman police said.

Before she was killed, Montgomery called a relative, according to her sister, Chancierra Coleman.

“She was just saying, ‘Thank you,’ and that she loved everybody. She knew he was about to kill her,” Coleman told Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones.

“The police said that it looked like she may have been holding Khloe when he shot her, because it was blood splatter all over her.”

Khloe was not harmed.

The family said Nash shot Montgomery during a previous incident because she broke up with him. They said he had been arrested repeatedly for assaulting her, and he was allowed to bond out of jail every time.

According to WSB-TV, Nash has two open domestic violence cases in Fulton and DeKalb.
