Lucky Ngubane, the Managing Director of ForHim Security Services has confirmed that the University of Eswatini(UNESWA) has terminated a security contract with his company and as a result, security guards might lose their jobs. 




A letter in our possession suggests that on or around 06 May 2022, Dr Salebona Simelane,the Registrar of the University of Eswatini wrote a letter to the ForHim Security Services Managing Director informing him about the termination of the contract.


“The University has noted with concern the flagrant disregard of the terms of the Agreement entered between yourselves and the University.In terms of the Agreement you were to provide security risk management and protection service in respect of its Campuses and Farms for the purpose of preventing crime generally and for preventing loss of or damage to property and injury to the persons caused by theft, burglary vandalism, fire, violence or other related criminal activities at all times during the subsistence of same. Unfortunately this has not been the case and your behavior has demonstrated to the University that you no longer wish to be bound by the Agreement. In line with clause 17.2.4 the University has come to a decision that the Agreement be terminated solely based on your conduct”, reads the letter in part.


Reached for comments, Dr Salebona Simelane, the UNESWA Registrar said in terms of the contract he was restricted to speak to the media about the matter.


“The contract does not allow me to speak to the media. The letter you are talking about was addressed to the security company and I am wondering how it reached you,”reads a letter signed by the UNESWA Registrar.


Speaking to this Swaziland News, Lucky Ngubane, the ForHim Security Services Managing Director confirmed that the contract has been terminated by the institution of higher learning.


“They have terminated the contract after renewing it for twelve(12) months last month.They gave us the letter on the 11th of May,” he said.


It has been disclosed that the University of Eswatini has been facing security challenges after an unknown man invaded the institution and raped students.


It is alleged that the man gained entry after the University failed to fix a broken fence on the northern part of the institution.
