Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Ugandans have celebrated former monarch, Ssekabaka Mwanga Basammulekkere, II, on Uganda’s martyr day.

According to information, Ssekabaka Mwanga II was the last King of Buganda to lead an absolute Monarchy. He was characterized by being resistant to not only foreign rule but to foreign influence as well. He led a short but turbulent reign.

The 45 Anglican and Catholic converts that were executed between 31st January 1885 & 27th January 1887 in Buganda Kingdom, died because of political reasons.

They were famously known as Abasomi (readers), and Ssekabaka Mwanga II was a reader too. Ugandans celebrate Ssekabaka Mwanga II on Martyr day on every June 3.

We demonize Kabaka Mwanga and Kabalega for fighting against the imperialists,we then celebrate those that worked with them in the name of religion ( Another tool of mind control)!

Indeed we are co-authors of our agony.

The real man that deserves the real celebration for this public holiday is

Kabaka Mwanga.

Owekitiibwa raises an important issue here. It’s not too late for Ugandans to independently revisit the 1885 and 1887 episodes that led to the killings. Kabaka Mwanga is a hero in his own right whose foreign policy simply collided with western crusaders of Christianity.

Today we celebrate Kabaka Mwanga and his commitment to protect his Kingdom and his subjects from colonialists and their Native collaborators who were naive enough to think treason against their state and ancestors in the service of foreign gods was a noble cause.

The story of the Uganda Martyrs will never be completed until Bishop Hannington is recognized and honoured, brutally killed on the orders of Kabaka Mwanga at Fort Luba with 67 other people on 29th October 1885, He walked on foot from Mombasa to bring Christianity.

Sekabaka Mwanga was betrayed by Kagwa and the martyrs. If Mwamga had won we all would be in a better place. Kagwa and the dictators are the same person. The martyrs are the most useful tool to make us hate Mwanga and love our colonizers/dictators.

Uganda is predominantly Christian because Kabaka Mwanga II ordered the killing of the Martyrs. More significantly, Mwanga II did everything in his power to preserve the integrity and sovereignty of his Kingdom. For that, and more, he is a great hero 💪🏾. CPM.

As a Muganda committed to decolonisation, I hail Kabaka Mwanga this Martyrs’ Day. Those so-called martyrs were traitors yielded to Christianisation and colonisation. I refuse to partake of your colonial celebrations of sell-outs who betrayed Buganda, spited our Kabaka and norms.

Happy #KabakaMwangaDay as #PanAfricans Every 3rd of june we shall celebrate an African king who resisted colonialism in its early stages. Mwanga will be remembered as a hero of his people not the villain, He was framed. We shall erect a STATUE in his honor! ✊🏾#GNL #TheStoryteller.
