Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Parliament’s has decided to ban the annual Nyege Nyege event over immorality concerns.
Minister of State for Ethics & Integrity says
that for the Nyege Nyege event to happen,
– Children below 18 shouldn’t attend
– Nobody should go to that event naked
– No body should go to Nyege Nyege with any form of body exposure.
“I come from Busoga, I have witnessed this Nyege Nyege; it’s totally immoral. We can’t sacrifice the morals of Ugandans because of tickets that have been sold. If the Minister wants let him take it to his district”~ Maurice Kibalya, Bugabula North MP.
Usually when there’s an issue, Parliament refers the matter to a committee. In there, all stakeholders are listened to. About Nyege Nyege, speaker made a ruling without listening to any of the stakeholders esp those that have invested resources in this event.
What are we losing if the event doesn’t happen? She asked.
