Two people are in custody after a deadly shooting Monday afternoon in Arlington.
Chanel Sherrod, 23, and Tamyiah Williams, 29, were arrested late Monday on one count each of murder. It was not clear whether they have attorneys.
Information reads: “His babymama just killed him in front of their baby in Texas. He was walking from the cornerstone Munchies with his baby in a stroller and babymama was supposed to meet him to get their child. They got into an argument because he had his girlfriend with him and they had arguing. The baby mama then shot him and they took the baby got in car and left.”
Arlington police responded to the 1600 block of West Division Street about 4:45 p.m. Monday, where they found a man fatally shot in a restaurant parking lot. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified him as 30-year-old Tyrone Darling Jr.
Police said Williams was previously in a relationship with Darling and that Sherrod had driven her to the location that day so she could pick up the child they had together. An argument occurred during the exchange, police said.
Surveillance footage showed Sherrod exiting the vehicle and fighting Darling, police said, followed by Williams shooting him. Authorities said Sherrod and Williams then drove away. Police said the child, whose age was not released, was unharmed and is in the custody of relatives.
Sherrod and Williams were being held Tuesday in the Arlington jail, and their bail had not yet been set.
They got into an argument because he had his girlfriend with him and they had another dude with them.
