Three suspects have been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly torturing a 22-year-old boy, Tunji George, to death on allegation of stealing an iPhone 6. (Read More Here).




The command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said the three suspects; Felix Sunday, Shomuye Musa and Oluwatobi Michael, were arrested following a complaint by the victim’s brother. 

“The suspects were arrested following a report by one Bola George who reported at Onipanu Divisional Headquarters that her brother was alleged to have stolen a iPhone 6 at Keke hotel in Iyana Iyesi Ota, consequent upon which the deceased was tied with rope in the hotel and tortured to death.

Having realised that the victim was about giving up the ghost, the suspects quickly rushed him to the hospital, but before they got to the hospital, the victim has kicked the bucket. 

The Divisional Police Officer, Bamidele Job, immediately mobilized his men to the scene and apprehended two of the suspects while the remaining one was arrested in the hotel.

On interrogation, the suspects told the police that they strongly suspected the deceased was the person who stole the iPhone 6, and in order to recover the said phone from him, they decided to torture him not knowing that it would result to his death,” he said.
