The federal trial against Pras Michel has listed Leonardo DiCaprio as a witness after the Fugees’ member was accused of participating in a scheme that helped fund the 2013 film ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street.”
In 2019, the actor testified in Washington D.C as a witness who was involved in the film he helped produce with director Martin Scorcese. According to the Daily Mail, court documents stated that DiCaprio is scheduled to appear in the trial again, which is set to begin on November 4.
Prosecutors said Pras Michel’s involvement in the money laundering scheme was due to his connection to Malaysian businessman Jho Low, who allegedly embezzled billions from the country’s state-run economic development fund 1Malayasia Development Berhard. Michel reportedly received $8 million and $40 million for helping Low with the scheme.
