Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that 4-year-old Izzy Scott drowned during his 2nd swim lesson… after the instructor told his mom parents can’t stay to watch lessons. The family says they still haven’t got an explanation from the instructor—only a refund & a condolence card 2 weeks later.
When she arrived, Dori said she was told that parents couldn’t stay to watch the lesson, to avoid distracting the children.
“I understood because I am a hair stylist and know that children can act differently when their parents are around,” Dori Scott told TODAY Parents. “But I didn’t want to leave my baby.” Still, she waited in the car until the lesson was over.
Following the sheriff’s release, Scott’s mother, Dori, posted a statement on Facebook which she gave The Augusta Chronicle permission to use after declining an interview request.
“… We will not stop until justice is served,” she wrote. “This shouldn’t have happened and we want to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. You have to be held accountable for your actions …”
Scott was noticed by TenHuisen’s granddaughter after she went to remove the pool vacuum from the shallow end of the pool. TenHuisen had just gotten out of the pool with the children to dry off after the last child’s swimming relay, according to Sheriff Williams.
